Thank you everyone for your emails wondering where I've been!! To be quite honest, I have been very lazy lately and haven't felt like writing about anything really. Don't know why, just not feeling like sorting my thoughts or something.

I did do a couple things however that I would like to share with you now if you don't mind - or if you are still interested...

For one, I finally had my tooth pulled out. For those of you not aware of my torture, I have been suffering for years over this miserable molar and finally on Monday I had it yanked. Boy does it feel good not to have it there anymore. It was the strangest thing too. I was sitting in the chair, they stuck with me with the sleepy needle, and I remember staring at the window waiting to fall asleep. I remember distinctly everyone just looking down upon me. There was no count down, no 'see you in awhile', no words at all. I dont remember my eyes ever closing, or losing consciousness. I did realize eventually that instead of 3 nurses and one doctor in the room, suddenly there was one nurse. I asked her when we were going to get started, and she informed me that they had already finished. How cool a drug is that?? I swear in my mind, I had only been in that chair for about 3 minutes and was still waiting for something to happen. And what a great job they did. No bruising or swelling, only a little tenderness, and a bottle of Darvocet to boot. Now all I have to do is go next Monday to get the stitches taken out. Sorry, I have no pictures to show you of the hole left behind... but I have a feeling you might rather see the ones I took of Ocean City, MD -

Which is where Earl and I took our vacation. Actually, Earl was in Canada for the week before MD fishing for bass. During that time, I primed our drywall with a tinted primer so now it looks like a bottle of Peptobismol threw up on my walls but at least it's a refreshing change from spackle. Anyway, Earl got back in the afternoon and we headed out for a 3 1/2 hour trip to MD that night where we stayed in a condo for a week.

Our Condo:

Niceee, huh!

Well that's all the pictures I have for ya...

Yeah, right. You know me better than that. Actually I am really starting to appreciate the benefits of my new digital camera considering how much money I just saved not having to develop what would have been at least a dozen rolls of film. For your sake, I have posted only a select few as to not bore you with multiple pictures of the same thing at slightly different angles...

So if you please, scroll down now...

"Little" - She was our vacation mascot. She belonged to Dee who came up to join our party half way through the week. Little was able to calm my homesickness for my babies back in PA. Thanks Little.

We took a boat out with other tourists to see the wild ponies...

These ponies have been on Assateague Island for over 400 years. No one knows for sure how they got there but rest assured, there are many stories. There are actually two islands of ponies. The ponies on the Virgina side live on Chincoteague Island and are owned by the volunteer firemen who take care of them and feed them grain.

These ponies you see here are on the Maryland side (Assateague Island) and no one owns them or feeds them. Their systems have adjusted to living on salt water and salty marsh grass. MMMMmmmm. That is why they look so plump. It's not because they eat alot, its because they are bloated from salt. There are so many of them that the mares are sometimes given birth control to keep the amount down to a healthy number.

Aren't they beautiful!

And on the way back from our boat trip, the little kids got to hold some sea monsters...

They found one big kid to handle the horseshoe crab...

Horseshoe crabs are one of the oldest living creatures on Earth. They have some of the best eye sight around and research is trying to understand them better to help our troubled eyes. Didn't know that, did you? You thought they were just strange looking things that washed up on the beach when they wanted to die. Well to add to your amazement - if you ever had disintegrating stitches in your mouth from surgery - it was probably from a horseshoe crab.

I of course, do not have disintegrating stitches as that would wayyyy to easy...

We also saw multi-million dollar homes from our boat...

Back on land, we visited the Boardwalk. There were many kites...

And no trip to OC is complete with out checking out Seacrets - Jamaica City, USA, the most happening club around. It used to be a tiny little thing years ago just for the bartenders to go and relax, but eventually everyone wanted in and now it keeps growing bigger and bigger every year. The palm trees are planted every spring and they die every fall, which costs the owner a million dollars every year to replace them, so he decided to buy the plantation to save him some money... But those palm trees really make you feel like you're on an island, not to mention the entire ground is nothing but sand allowing you to walk around barefoot. The food is all island themes, including jerk chicken dishes. Some of the drinks they offer are the Pain In The Ass, Rum Runners, and Smilies (which is a beer with a shot of something in it). Yes, you can get lost as there are many, many levels of bars and dance floors (including one that glows in the dark and has a floor that bounces - sounds greattt if you've had one drink too many) and several trails to get to these things lite by real torches (wonder how many drunks caught themselves on fire) - Did I mention they have their own radio station inside?

Note the beer bottles in the rocks. They light up at night! Image hosted by Photobucket.com

You can also drink out in the water on little round rafts. Its truly amazing!

This is the Jim Long Band. They play at Seacrets often and are really awesome! They saw me taking pictures and asked me to email them to their website! Maybe I can finally get some recognition!

So there you have it. That's what I've been up to. I wish I was still in OC - although I would need to bring my animals with me because I missed them entirely too much (sorry, Little) - We went to the beach, to the pool, I had my toes in the sand, we slept in, we had many cocktails whenever and where ever we wanted to, we ate a lot....

And I was finally OUT-FREAKING-SIDE.

Man, I love vacation.
