You just had to get the last word in, didn’t you CC?? Huh? Why don’t you just poke me in the kidney next time??

OH the drama of ordering checks in the mail… As you know, I just recovered from ordering four boxes of checks through Classic Checks, who AT THE TIME only shipped BULK (which I did not know) – and items shipped BULK are not trackable, and of course, I only received three of the four boxes….

Which forced me to close my entire checking account, open a new one, order more checks through someone more reliable and wait forever to get them in addition to waiting for my new bank card so I can actually buy things without having to find an ATM to make a withdrawal, and most irritating of all, I had to rearrange all my other banking to link to my new account.

Well, I thought I would teach Classic a lesson for being so irresponsible and win this “lets screw Amy over” game by shipping them back the three boxes I did receive so I could get a refund and ordered more checks through someone else…

Which I did.

I ordered through Checks In The Mail and they shipped them not only through DHL but sent me an email updating me on their where-abouts, AND stuffed all four boxes in ONE bag – how ingenious.

But secretly, I was sad. I was sad because I really had wanted to renew the check design I had before; my beautiful Defenders Of Wildlife “Wolves In Winter” which featured the same wolf couple through out all four designs romping through the snow…

But they were $18 a box (and I usually order 4 boxes to last me forever) plus shipping and that was wayyyy too much money. Reluctantly, I decided to pass this time strictly for financial reasons, and settled for chose Kat Kraz because the pictures were beautiful, they support Global Conservation of Wildlife, the price was right, and I really like them…

But I really did LURVE my wolf checks...

I think I should explain too, the process I go through when choosing a check design. It takes me DAYS to pick out the right one. I will actually go to sleep thinking about it… I will ask others their opinions... Then, and only then, when I have finally decided beyond the shadow of a doubt, I will place the order. I wonder why I care. Do checks really define you as a person? They’re a little more important that picking out the print on your paper towels, but I don’t even get my cleared checks back anymore so I’ll never see them again anyway…

And now today I just signed up for Online Bill Pay so I will go through my checks much slower now and it will be awhile before I have to order them again (thank dog) but of course now I feel like I just went over board with four boxes and TWO would have been quite sufficient...

Today I used my very first Kat Kraz check. And to set the story straight, they are Katz, as in my favorite big cats of the wild, not silly kittens in baskets. As I wrote the check out, I admired the picture and handed it to the lady thinking, Oh look, you got a Lion! Aren't you lucky! Normally, this is where the receiver of my wolf check would say, Ooooh I love your check! But alas, the lion got no response.

I think I feel like I let that wolf couple down. How will they continue to play so freely in the snow if I don't buy their checks? Who will support them? I'll have to send them a check (with a big cat on it) to make sure someone is still taking care of them.

So as if I don't feel guilty enough, I get home tonight and find THIS in the mail... From CLASSIC...

"Dear Wildlife Supporter,
It's probably time to reorder your Defenders of Wildlife "Wolves In Winter" checks. And, as a preferred customer, you're just in time to benefit from our very special offer: for a limited time, save $10 when you buy two boxes..."

Which of course, would make them the same price I just paid for my Katz....

Kick a woman while she's down, why don't you. Sons of bitches.

So tell me...
Is it time for therapy yet?
