I have a secret.

My house is turning into an Oriental Dynasty...

It's not something I have kept from you really, its something I have kept from my folks.

Why?

Because I fear they would end my life.

And of course the best way to keep a secret is to post it on the Internet...

Q's little brother was born in October. He needed a home...

Like I said - he's Q's little brother, and I mean biological brother. What was I supposed to do?

I wasn't really going to mention anything about this until I put bars on my windows to keep my parents from killing me for getting yet another animal, but seeing as they have never (knock on wood) commented on my blog, I think they probably dont read it...

I think.

I'm 34 years old and still afraid my parents will ground me. They're coming up before February. I have so many animals, maybe they wont notice the runt. He is pretty small...

So it took all of 2 days for Q and Ming, yes the baby's name is Ming, to bond. Ming is 222 (2 lbs, 2 oz, at 2 months old).

Although Salem is slowly warming up to him, Widgeon still has intentions of biting his head off. The dogs of course started out wayyyy toooo curious and wanted desperately to play with this new squeeky toy. By now however, they have chilled and are more mellow 'bout the little guy.

We've been keeping him in the bedroom while we're at work so he doesn't get himself into any trouble - but its been a couple weeks now and today is his big day of being outside of his secure little nest. I have piles of pillows in the hallway to catch him if/when he falls from the banister on the second floor. It's a sad fact, but every cat eventually has to fall, its seems, as all three of the others have. None were hurt in the process, but Ming is amazingly small. And seeing as his little legs arent quite strong enough yet to keep him landing on his feet from the top of the couch, I thought some extra cushion might be appreciated.

I trust big brother Q will keep an eye on him.

Last night I found the kitten nursing on Q's nipple. Q let him do this, dispite the fact that Q is neither his mother nor a female. Instead, he laid his arm over the kitten's head and cleaned him as the baby sucked... and sucked... and for the love of God - sucked. You'd think after 10 minutes of sucking with nothing coming out, the kid would quit. Such a mama's boy.

And of course, if you have a kitten, and say... a small treasure chest, one must take cute pictures.

Hopefully the house isn't in shambles when we get home. I'll let you know how it goes.

And remember, don't tell me mum!

I'm a lurker! I admit it. We are getting a kitty just as soon as we find the right one.

Stick with the, we're cat sitting story, and then 2 years from now, break it to your parents as how the owner never came back to pick the baby up. That's the story I fed my mom when I got my cat. It works.
